It started in January. My co-grandpa LeRoy, a very dear friend as well, finally passed from metastatic bladder cancer. Today is the memorial service, in Minnesota, for LeRoy’s older son Jeff, who died of a rare bile duct cancer. Today our sister-in-law (my wife’s brother’s wife) is being discharged from UCLA into home hospice, with metastatic cancer to the brain and a huge clot in her aorta; the combination of everything is untreatable, so she is being discharged to die at home. My dear wife is an extremely sensitive soul (despite being a rock-hard conservative), and is taking all of this as one might expect. We could use some prayers for LeRoy’s widow who is Jeff’s mother; and for our brother-in-law Bob and his wife Jane, and their entire family. And of course for my wife and me. All this tragedy all around us; so far she and I are doing pretty well considering, but we sure do feel vulnerable. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Keeping you in mind and prayers, Dr. T. Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

Yes, prayers sent. We've lost two very close people this year, one to cancer. Another old friend, living off the grid, just described what I'm afraid may be a nickel sized melanoma, waiting for the biopsy. He's always shunned doctors, I think his situation has been going on a while. Cancer, yeah.... Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

Prayers sent. It just seems like bad things happen around the same time. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

Thank you for your prayers, my invisible friends. vthoky, I hope we get to meet sometime. I feel as if we've been more than invisible friends for a long time...well since 2007 I think. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Prayers for you and your friends and relatives. It truly hard to accept the loss of your friends and having no family members left and the feeling of being vulnerable is real, but remembering the good times helps along the way.

I know what you mean Doc. 2025 has been a tough year for our family as well. Right now my sister is fighting breast cancer and my daughter-in-law has cancer in her eye (Choroidal Melanoma). My sister-in-law had breast cancer last year, had a double mastectomy and treatment, and it looked like she was in remission and doing well. A couple of months later, her husband (my wife's brother) comes down with rare condition (AL Amyloidosis), similar to blood cancer; he is not doing well. The wife and I went to see them last week as her brother may not have much time left. During our visit, my sister-in-law disclosed that her cancer is back and has spread. _____________________________________________________________________ “One of the common failings among honorable people is a failure to appreciate how thoroughly dishonorable some other people can be, and how dangerous it is to trust them.” – Thomas Sowell
