I don't make decisions quickly enough, apparently. A part I wanted was out of stock. I was put on a waiting list. The e-mail saying it was back in stock came in. I put three in my cart. Having not tried the pistol out, I decided to wait on purchasing, until after the range session. Some would call that prudent? Anyway, after a reasonable session, I went to purchase again, a few days later, and the price is up 20%. Unbelievable. It's like each entity that touched the item, from manufacturer to shipper to retailer added 6%.

I don't know how we are going to survive, as a world, with costs rising like this. Christmas Eve dinner was crazy expensive. Hobbies the same. I can't afford to practice like I used to.

Clear your cookies, and check again.

I have found on multiple occasions, that websites will raise the price if you have been there before, trying to trick you into purchasing quickly before the price increases again.

I have had this particular issue with grabagun.

log out, clean my cache and cookies, recheck website, and price magically dropped.

Vendor confirmed the price increase was real. They are passing on cost increase from the OEM.

It doesn't sound like it's the case here, but Amazon is famous for doing this. Put something in your cart an leave it and they will jack the price up. Remove it and go back a few days later and it's back to the original price. I assume they're hoping you will just come back and click buy without paying attention.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

To be fair, for some items I have placed in my Wish List or left in my Cart for a few days, Amazon has also indicated that there has been a price reduction for that particular item since I last put it in my list or cart.

I’m sure Amazon uses algorithms that predict product sales using price movement. I almost always have a cart and wishlists set in Amazon and have purchased due to significant price reductions. I have also delayed purchases due to price increases, knowing full well at some point the price will drop again. I have learned that the time to buy something you want is when you find it at the right price. I’ve been pondering a CZ PCR after holding it in a local shop. Finding it new at a sub $500 price online made me pull the trigger. Funny thing was the first time I put it in my cart I decided to sleep on it. Next morning the price increased by $20, still a great price. A few days later it was back to the original price and I completed the order. I’m sure many would have just paid the extra $20 and I probably would have if I had a real use for the pistol other than I don’t have a CZ.

I've left things in my Amazon cart many times but they've never done this. They do occasionally lower the price though.

you'd never see a post about something saved in the cart, ending up cheaper than when it was saved!!!!

Yep. I've seen the same thing. I go to one site for a particular item. See the price. Go to another site for the same item, see that it's at a higher price. I go back to the first website and the price "magically" matches the higher price. I forget the defunct online bookstore now but they also ended up have brick and mortar stores. I cleared my cache and browsing history to restore the lower price.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

This reminds me of a situation I had with Delta Airlines. I was being charged a higher airfare when logged into my Delta account. Did a log in from my phone as a visitor and the flight was less money.
ALWAYS….check prices via different means and monitor the market especially on big purchases.
Time is money, don’t be in a hurry does pay off.
