I've been using Yahoo Mail as my contact for on-line purchases and other cyber needs for many, MANY years. It's got a decent Spam filter, and has been a good, dependable basic email program. Now they've forced a new version with no way to revert to the old one and the new one has all sorts of totally unnecessary bells and whistles with - and I've done a lengthy chat with tech support - to turn them off. The screen is cluttered with useless windows, every time you blink there's another fucking pop-up and Brave blocks a raft of ads. Obviously aimed at screen-addicted 20-somethings that can't go 30 seconds without some sort of visual stimulation. I'd switch to something else, but I doubt it'd be any better and updating all my contacts would be a YUGE pain in the ass. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

From what you wrote, it appears that you are using the web (browser) interface to access Yahoo mail. Have you tried using an email client such as Thunderbird, to connect to Yahoo mail? That might get rid of the annoying stuff that you are seeing. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I use Tbird for my private email, I'll have to look into that. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

I, too, still use my first email account with Yahoo. I do get the toenail fungus ads on the right hand side, but the rest of it seems to work as it always has. ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. I never changed to the new Yahoo Mail, had an account with them since 2000 I don't get any pop ups or ads to the right side either, Brave takes care of that. From Eh Eye! You can switch Yahoo Mail to the older Basic Mail layout by opening your settings from the left-hand menu and selecting the option to switch versions. [1] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYFwfVoX-mQ)How to Switch to Basic Mail Open your web browser, go to Yahoo Mail, and sign in to your account. Look at the left-hand sidebar and click the three dots icon (More options). Select Settings from the menu. Look toward the bottom of the settings menu on the left side and click Switch to basic Mail. A feedback prompt may appear; click the Switch to basic Mail confirmation button.
