Knows too little about too much |
Called to <cough, cough> cancel the Sirius XM subscription. When they asked why I was cancelling, I told them "because you are offering new subscribers a $5 buck a month deal for two years". Please hold on and let me see what I can do. Yep. $6.06/month of 24 months. Anyway, the foreign accents are difficult to understand, but I understand, they are WORKING so good for them. However, their employer is too cheap to buy them noise-canceling mics so it sound like they're in a chicken house and the rooster is strutting thru. Difficult to understand anyone under those circumstances. Been dealing with a call center because of problems with my cell phone service provider. Even tho they are in a another country their English is very good. The thing that is difficult to deal with is the slight delay when talking to them, then waiting for an answer. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Not addressing your issue directly, but- Used to be, I wanted to speak to someone in the United States, but you know what? I have had it with the absolute crap quality of the poorly/barely trained American customer service representative, taking my call while sitting on their fucking couch, distracted by their fucking infant child or the video game they are playing and half-listening to me while having me on microphone mute so that it seems like I'm talking to myself. They're not trained, they're not bright, they're entitled and they do a shit job. The ones I speak to who are overseas- do you know that many times, their English diction is far better, and they have a broader vocabulary. They listen well, they're polite and they actually behave as if they are grateful to be employed. This is not an exaggeration. I spoke to an Indian CS representative with one of my credit card companies and this gal was on the ball. I could elaborate, but trust me, I was impressed. My only problem is with CS representatives in the Philippines. They are quite polite and patient, but there is some sort of grammatical/syntactic disconnect wherein I have a bit of difficulty conveying my information to them and the way they respond to me is somewhat awkward and stilted. I know they are trying, but there is something in that country with the way they learn and use the English language that doesn't quite jibe with American dialect. But, even with that, I still prefer them over lazy, stupid, ignorant, distracted American dolts. On top of all that, I sometimes catch a whiff of racism directed my way, when "Tra'vel" or "Sh'ny-qu-ia" hear the old white guy on the other end of the phone. I'm not kidding. I've been on this rock too long to fool with that shit anymore. When I sense that, I just bypass them- call back, request to be transferred, whatever. There are, of course, exceptions. Occasionally I do get an American CS rep who's on the ball, but it's a rare exception, I'm sorry to say.

Long gone are the days where calling a large company’s customer service line might get you a high school classmate. It only happened to me once. Thinking back on it, it was probably the last time I talked to anyone I went to high school with.

If I cant understand them, I say: "Let me speak to someone who can respond in understandable English. I am calling from America". And then I get disconnected! End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I had to make a couple of calls earlier today that led to call centers. One rep I spoke to was obviously "not from around here" given the accent, but was certainly courteous and helpful. On another call, the rep seemed to be very local given her accent, friendliness, and vocabulary. Example: "Okay, sweetie, we can take care of that. Let's get to it." God bless America.

My wife works for a large bank doing credit card servicing. She works from a home office with the door closed. But I can still hear her responses and conversations at times. She's the kind of person I love to get on the phone when I need customer service. _______________________ “There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe, and it has a longer shelf life.” ― Frank Zappa

I’ve had to use Apple support a few times. Each time has been exemplary. Courteous, polite, helpful, patient, articulate. Never had to re-explain anything. To say that this is exceptional and surprising is sad. It’s normal these days to expect companies to only care about pre-sales and don’t give a fuck about post-sales. My Dad had just moved into a new house and was trying to get his Cox Cable transferred to his new address . We were making a lot of noise inside so he walked outside on the carport to call them . After a few minutes we heard him shout " Does anybody there speak English ?" My sister said " I better go handle this .." .

I notice that the cartels have a special way of dealing with call center employees. I am unsure as to why the cartels chose to do this. link: https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/06...rts-bags-intl-latam-

Well here is the story without pics I tried twice more but no working link. Human remains found in 45 bags discovered in a suburb of Guadalajara belong to call center workers who went missing in May, Mexican authorities have confirmed. The Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences (IJCF) said Tuesday its tests had confirmed the remains belonged to the missing workers and said the next of kin had been informed. However, it did not specify whether remains from all seven of the missing workers were in the bags. The seven workers disappeared from the metropolitan area of Guadalajara sometime after May 20. The search for them took a grisly turn last week when bags containing human body parts were found in a ravine in the municipality of Zapopan. Zapopan Mexico’s Secretary of Security Rosa Icela Rodriguez Velazquez said last Tuesday that initial investigations suggested the workers might have been involved in “some type of real estate fraud” and “telephone extortion.” CNN cannot independently verify the Secretary of Security’s claims. Mexico has been troubled by an epidemic of disappearances with more than 100,000 Mexicans and migrants still missing. More than 1,500 bodies have been found in Jalisco state since 2018, official figures show. According to the office of the Jalisco’s special prosecutor for missing persons, 291 bodies were discovered in 2019, 544 bodies were found in 2020, 280 bodies in 2021, and 301 the following year. So far in 2023, 147 bodies have been found. In March, after four Americans were kidnapped in Mexico, resulting in the deaths of two of them, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador argued that Mexico is a safer country than the United States. Kidnapping and human trafficking are also not unusual in parts of Mexico, particularly in border areas and Mexico’s overall homicide rate is among the highest in the world.

For anyone that’s been frustrated by dealing with foreign call centers for their cell phone service, Consumer Cellular has good old USA customer service representatives that are helpful, courteous, and smart. At least that’s been my experience every time I’ve dealt with them. That’s not been the case for me with AT&T, Verizon and Straight Talk.

What I hate is the script with the mock empathy. __________________________________________________ "I can see how frustrating that would be for you." Me: Please dispense with the mock empathy and fix the problem. "I'm sorry for that, absolutely I can see how you might feel" Me: You are still doing it. "I understand you are disappointed in our service, I promise to correct this immediately. Me: Really, just stop it, or you will make me dissatisfied with the service and I will respond to any survey accordingly. "We are really sorry you feel dissatisfied, it must really be frustrating". ___________________________________________________ And on and on. This kind of not listening to what I ask and sticking to the script is really irritating.

I believe they’re also on T-Mobile’s network. If I remember correctly I was able to specify which network I needed when I signed up. At&t doesn’t work worth mule turd here. It might be worth calling CC to ask if that’s still their policy.

Consumer Cellular had offered service on your choice of AT&T or T-Mobile. They also had a presence in Target stores. They discontinued sales in Target stores and T-Mobile fairly recently. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים
