YooperSigsAnd included are the truckers who take miles to pass another rig by going about 2 MPH faster than the rig being passed!

konata88Doubly annoyed by people who do this and weaving because they are distracted by talking on the phone.

PrefontaineIt’s a big time annoyance of mine. We have toll roads here, and I’m paying bank to drive on them. I run radar and want to use the fast lane. I’m also well trained. Quit fucking bogarting. When I can get around them I do the Scandinavian “flick” right in front of their bumper. They’re idiots.
What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

trapper189Smart people drive in the right lane, there's usually nobody there.

WarEagleSince you are in LA, I feel your pain. Damn old fart retirees who can’t drive worth a shit that sit in the left lanes on 98 are ridiculous.

dan03833Happened to me yesterday. Masshole doing 65 in left lane, I had cruise set to 75. I pass on right and then move back over. Masshole then decides to tailgate me for the next 5 miles.

TMatsHuge problem on the Colorado Front Range. Colorado actually has a statute that states the left lane is for passing. CSP posts videos with some frequency on the subject.

I'm on the fence if a semi in the left lane should be a capital offense.

tatortoddVery few people who grow up in big cities where every highway is 3+ lanes have any concept of left lane being the fast lane for passing and then you get back in right lane when not passing. To them, the right lane is the nuisance lane with lots of merging and then the left lane and middle lane(s) are for steady driving when far from your exit. There are millions of drivers and pretty much every day you get passed on the right by people weaving in and out of traffic (i.e. passing on both right and left). It doesn't matter whether you are driving the speed limit or 20 mph over the speed limit, there is a 99.9% chance you'll encounter someone who is driving faster weaving in and out of traffic.
My ex learned to drive in Dallas and then moved to Houston, and before Houston added Grand Parkway the only 2-lane driving was road trips (i.e. once or twice a year). I got sick on a road trip and my ex drove home which is when I found out she was a left lane "camper." Out in the country, she would leisurely drive mile after mile in the left lane, and get repeatedly passed on the right. I felt like crap and was grateful she was driving, but it was having an impact on my sense of right/wrong (fortunately, not enough to say anything).

coloradohunter44Since you pay extra to drive in the toll lane, are you exempt from any speed limit? How fast are you allowed to go? Same question for the regular left lane. No speed limit for it either, since it's the passing lane? Every time I drive I-25 on the front range I get passed by folks easily going 90 to 100. Since this is so common, is there a new racetrack license or something I missed out on that allows this? Where do I sign up?

PASigAhh yes, you gotta love the left lane lurkers who think it's their God-given right to purposefully drive 5-10 mph under the speed limit (and really about 20 mph below the flow of traffic) in the left lane and create backups. Then when you pass them on the right they get pissed off and speed up to way above the speed limit.

jed7s9bI’m totally convinced all of the behavior mentioned and more is from petty little powerless ninnies that are trying assert dominance in the protective cocoon that is their vehicle. It well passed time that traffic laws were enforced even over petty little nonsense like lane courtesy or turn signals.

Glynn863I would also include stupid people in the right lane, especially those who pass on the right.
I'll explain - Sometimes I have to pull a utility trailer, and on multi-lane roads, I travel in the right lane, unless I'm about to make a left turn very soon. Occasionally, I need to pass a slower vehicle in the right lane. Many times, as I'm attempting to return to the right lane, some jackleg (or many) will pass me on the right, despite my right turn signal flashing and me trying to ease over.

Turn Signal... also known as
The "pull up next to me, I want to talk to you" light
In my case it can be the, "I
AM moving over" light.

If you are in the left lane and passing slower traffic in the right lane, how is it you are getting passed by people in the right lane? Are the vehicles passing you flying over the vehicles you are passing or just antimatter phasing through them?
