Do you really need to celebrate after every single first down you make? I love it even more when their team is losing by 20 or more points. Ridiculous to the extreme. Rant over.
Because son, it is what you are supposed to do.

I always loved how Earl Campbell celabrated. Once crossed the goal line the ball just harmlessly dropped from his limp arm almost as he had zero energy left. On another Oiler note: I never liked Billy "White Shoes" Johnson dancin' it up.

Yep. He was one of the greats (of course, not as great as Walter Payton )
I think Penn State's Joe Paterno said it best: "when you get into the end zone, act like you've been there before."

I always loved to watch Berry Sanders when he scored a touch down. He handed the ball to the Referee then ran over to the bench and sat down. Berry understood that scoring tough downs was his job, and he did it better than most. Rod

It’s not new. I’ve never hated football but I do hate a lot of football fans. Those obnoxious idiots ruined it for me decades ago. Of course a lot of the players attitudes and antics today would have ruined it for me anyway so I just stick to other sports.

I lived in Green Bay in the Lombardi days. I loved the Packer and the NFL. That was then. Today it’s a different game. I haven’t watched the NFL in 5 years. Now I only watch college football- but it seems to be getting more like the NFL.

The statement "when you get into the end zone, act like you've been there before" has been attributed to two coaches.
Joe Paterno was one. Darryl Royal was the other one.
Both great coaches.
Now it is freaking Soul Train on the field.

If I don't flex and dance, you might not appreciate how great I am, nor how vast my testicles.

Celebrating on plays when you're woefully behind: You're down 24-3 late in third quarter, you just made a tackle for loss, now STFU, stop celebrating & humbly go back to the line. News flash, you're getting your ass beat.

24-3 in the third quarter may not be the best example, especially if you ask a Falcons fan.
It always makes me laugh when someone celebrates early and drops the ball before crossing the goal line though.

Packer Backers were something else. Bart Starr was coaching and the Pack was losing. His kids were threatened at school not to mention the threats he received. Over the top I should say. Of course the Bears fans helped out. After a particular nasty loss to the Bears the Packers bus somehow got stuck in front of Dikta's restaurant.

You do if you are a Jacksonville Jaguar player. There’s no telling when another one will happen.

Celebrations on virtually every play, excessive timeouts for commercials and questionable calls are just a few of the reasons I stopped watching the NFL 5 years ago. Now I’ve lost interest in college football as well.
I find I read more.

I played defensive tackle in HS back in the 90s. My one goal that I always thrived for was to sack a qb from the blind side and make his head jerk back like in the NFL highlight videos. For a DT, this would be really difficult because most sacks like that came from the DE. Well, I finally got one. I got up and did a little celebration dance. It felt good but I suppose it looked a bit ridiculous. Anyway, the next Monday at practice, I found myself on the scout team as well as first team. I had to take every snap all practice long. I was tired. After practice, my coach said. "Why aren't you dancing now?" Point taken.
