#1) Sports should go back to like they were when I was a kid, which clearly was the best of times, and make sports about playing the sport and not a fashion show. Why do middle school kids need three different colors of jerseys for a season?

#2) If the board decides to go with white pants, it should be accepted that these pants will get stained with something from the field or the concessions stand and spouses should be prohibited from wringing their hands about stains on the pants the kid wears to the game. If they are stained that means that they dove in the outfield or slid when they stole second or had a hot dog with too much ketchup and the pants did what they are supposed to do. I swear the things that I end up wasting time on make me shake my head.

Right off, if I saw a kid in grass, dirt, stained britches. I think starter! Mustard & ketchup stains, ridin’ the pine.

I’m just thankful they’re playin’ ball! Great game to learn and play.

The minute the kid walks in the door from a tourney game, I have him strip and immediately spray those knickers with Shout. Let ‘em sit for a while, then toss em in the washer. Keeps the stains to a dull roar.
On his regular team the coach was good enough to recommend gray pants because that was better at hiding the stains.

Spray w/ Shout, and then into a 5-gal bucket w/ Oxi-Clean overnight...Wash em the next day. Sometimes you need to repeat the process, so never dry them until their clean...

The neighbor kid is 8 years old. They have multiple uniforms, each kid has their own "walk up song" to walk from the on deck circle to batter's box, and they do tournaments in other states (e.g. TN) during the school year (i.e. have to miss school Friday and Monday). SMH.

Pretty sure we had gray pants when I played baseball in the mid 80's. Agree, white pants are dumb.

I thought the little belt you had to wear with pants was stupid.

10 yr old grandson plays baseball . White pants . They are holding up pretty well though . Almost every team I see is wearing white pants .

...............and to add to the "walk up" songs. I saw where a local travel team of 8 yo had a "Signing day" where they agreed to be on the travel team. ............This 8 to 14 yo travel team with the walk up songs and signing days are way out of control.!

When you get white pants immediately scotch guard them. It helps and once or twice during the season helps when they are done being washed and dry.

The car wash pressure sprayer on soap is amazing. Best 1.25 you can spend. Works great for catchers gear too. Looks brand new.
