FredwardThe Descent of an Old Friend
I saw a symbol today that reminded me of an old friend. It was the Galloping Mustard insignia, but something was wrong. I got closer and saw it was on a rather standard looking Econo-box. As I got even closer, I saw it was PLUGGED IN! How could have old friend descended to this?

GibbFord missed the mark on this. They had at their disposal the moniker Model E, but chose to use Mach E for this instead of a sporty E coupe.
I feel like they did this for investors that were told by their significant others that they couldn't have a Mustang unless they could carry the kids and grab the groceries on their way home.

marksman41Is it common to refer to a Mustang as a Mustard? If so, why?

marksman41Not sure if it was some phrase used only by the select few "in-the-know" Mustang aficionados like some BMW owners will refer to the 745 as the quarter-to-eight - which is worthy of a future rant.

.38supersigAlso consider that they sold enough of the M-ache to keep the EPA happy.
The thought is that this is how the new Mustang still has a 5.0 V8.

egregoreLeaving aside the political and other issues with electric cars, why didn't they just make the "standard" Mustang in an electric version, instead of this wannabe SUV that looks like every other cookie-cutter "crossover?" I'm sure such a car would sell.

They did, but they found that configuration handles too well to spin out.
