Kay and Rod are two idiots who spoiled a Red Sox game yesterday!

I only watch sports when my beloved Red Sox are on. Got home about 7:30PM last night and caught the game in the 7th inning, but there was no play by play from someone at the game. It was these two morons in the studio talking and talking, often with a split screen.

I understand commentary from the in-stadium guys during slow periods, but I don't think I ever heard from someone who WASN'T there.

What happened to covering the game by someone AT the stadium???

Can you find a radio feed online to listen to while watching the game muted?

Is that still possible? I ask because the Tigers were not on Bally Sports Detroit Sun. but rather Peacock. I checked the internet 106.9Fm/1300AM Wood radio/iHeart and they were doing talk radio online but I was able to tune in to their local station w/ the radio and got the game.

I hate, hate, hate it when the normal broadcaster (in my case, Bally Sports North as I am a Twins supporter) sells or transfers a game to Apple+ or Fox, or ESPN. The morons they use for commentary or color are just horrible. I mute it and sync up the radio commentary through the Audacy app on my phone and play it through the soundbar.

Takes a bit of fiddling as the radio is sometimes a little behind the TV, but once its done, I'm back to enjoying the game - except when the boys lose.

This is what my FIL does with the Eagles

The national announcers all seem so anti-Eagles most of the time, it's very blatant.

Usually goes like this:

(Opposing team player makes a mediocre play): "Would you just look at that! This guy is AMAZING! This team is just SO wonderful! They are going to win this thing easily! (they're losing) Just look at the stupendous athleticism of this player! He's WONDERFUL!"

(Eagles player catches a 89 yard Hail Mary against all odds and jumps over 7 opposing players to make it to the end zone): "Meh. they ALMOST didn't make that. Not that great a play at all, but the opposing players are AMAZING, look at them go! Did I mention that this Eagles player allegedly beat his girlfriend 15 years ago?"

He puts in on a local Philly sports radio station with real announcers and turns down the TV sound.

Then go back and lay in a bed and listen to it in the dark like we did as kids when our parents wouldn't let us stay up late......

I’ve tried doing this, but have had the same issue. How are you able to bring them in sync?

I mute the TV and use the FF & RW facility on my TV remote to juggle the video feed until it's in sync with the radio broadcast.

It means I listen to the radio feed via Bluetooth to my soundbar rather than the phone, but it would work without but not sound so good. It could also be improved by feeding the radio broadcast to a BT speaker or other unit. I also have the Audacy app on my TV (A Roku Smart TV) but I haven't tried doing it that way yet as I'm not sure I can listen to that while watching a different channel - in fact I'm pretty sure I can't.

I’ll give that a try. Thanks!
