I was feeling magnaminous, I suppose. The distillery looked normal. The owner seemed both informed and intensely serious about her craft. She had bottles of straight bourbon for sale. Why not?

Because she made IRISH whiskey and labeled it straight bourbon!

Now I have to drink a fifth of Irish whiskey.

My sister and her husband did a trip to Ireland. While there they did a tour at Jameson's and he picked up a couple special edition bottles only available at the distillery. I don't care a bit if they aren't Bourbon, they are still some very fine sippin Whisky's.

When I was a kid, back in the 1940's, my favorite older cousin walked a beat in Brooklyn. There were not a lot of Jewish cops. Solly (Solomon) was my hero, and I wanted to follow his footsteps. Somehow, life took me in a different direction.

I haven't had a donut in over 28 years!

One of the absolute best partners I ever had was Jewish.
First day we met / worked together, it legitimately took us about 15 minutes to figure out that we both just "got it". And to this day, one of my best friends.

Yeah, but can you twirl a traditional night stick, like my cousin Sol did when he walked his beat?

I also remember the green police call boxes on street corners. The cops who walked the beat had a key to unlock them, and they could call in to the precinct.
