OK, I understand that you've got a tickle in your throat, but constantly irritating it by going through 20 violent hacks to expel the non-existent alien spore every 5 minutes really isn't helping. It's just annoying the rest of us.

Even worse when you've waited for months for a concert you've spent over $100 per ticket and this racket goes on almost nonstop.

Holy crap! I didn't know we worked at the same place. There was one here outside my office that did it for over two weeks straight and almost all day long. It was amazing she had time to breath.

I remember one...

An employee of my Dads, a painter with emphysema, coughed continuously... well, almost continuously. He would stop only long enough to take a drag off his cigarette.

I have had a persistent cough for many years now. I have been to a Lung specialist and other doctors. They can't find anything. My mother has the same problem and they can't find anything wrong with her either.

I have never smoked and I can't help it when and how it happens.

You're just going to have to deal with it.

The key to enforcement is to punish the violator, not an inanimate object. The punishment of inanimate objects for the commission of a crime or carelessness is an affront to stupidity.

Do you suffer from GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease)?

The acid can irritate the sinus' and cause nasal drip and other problems with excess fluid/mucus in the throat.

I get the persistent throat tickle occasionally. I keep some cough drops handy. They help.

Or even a hard candy, like a Life-Saver.

Are you on BP or cholesterol meds? It's a known side effect of some of them.

Older people can have drainage problems and will have a lot of hacking. It is a sign of aging and decline in life.

You can have a tooth infection or problems caused by a root canal which affects your sinuses. This will cause drainage and lots of hacking.

I recently had a tooth infection and it took me two weeks to get over the sinuses infection thanks to lots of vitamin c.
