Property Taxes Up 9% This Year

Just got my bill today. 10% increase this year, 42% since 2021. Meanwhile, I work for the same government that's assessing my property values, and their idea of a "cost of living adjustment" over that same 4 year timeframe has been less than 10%. What a crock of crap.

To add insult to injury, 78% of that property tax bill is going straight to the public schools, which my kids don't even attend. Yet I risked braking an axle today trying to get to the store on a county road riddled with potholes. At least if you're going to extort my money you could do something useful with it instead of dumping it into the failed public education system. Mad

I feel for you. I bitch about property taxes and homeowners an awful lot and I know it. Once taxes and homeowners eclipsed my mortgage, that was it. If it was just property taxes fine. Or if it was just homeowners insurance fine. It’s both, going astronomical. Yeah it pisses all off. You end up feeling like a damn slave to your county and state and it’s something you’ll forever bitch about unless you can escape to somewhere with lower cost of living.

I watched this today and at least someone is getting some jabs in, and a couple of haymakers.
