Raised Hands Surround Us Three Nails To Protect Us |
Sure glad they are kind enough to front load that thing since we have only paid in $624 this year. Thursday all $2500 be GONE plus some!!!!!! Last year we even had a baby and it lasted till October. This year our standard copays got bumped to $40 and Specialists $80. This winter has been awful with colds, flus, RSV, ear infections, new baby on $50 a month meds. 1st set of tubes for baby on Thursday sends us over the $2500. $600 copay for the surgery center, plus the $408 out of pocket to the surgeon. Love it!!!!!!!! ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. I had a knee replacement in January. $$$ gone in a flash. I see a sleep study for a new CPAP and a dermatologist visit in my future this year. Caught in a loop |
No FSA to speak of, but I'm about to hit my $3500 out of pocket max. Gastric emptying study in Jan because I was getting nauseous all the time. Injured my shoulder (impingement), endured 6 weeks of physical therapy, and ended up with a steroid shot. Still not done with that mess. Could be worse, though. This time last year I was getting evaluated to have my gallbladder removed. This year's new year's resolution is to stay out of the operating room. So far I'm succeeding. Prepared for the Worst, Providing the Best |
ACA has destroyed the healthcare industry. I don't have a FSA, but we do have an HSA with our high-deductible plan. We have a $6000/individual $12,000/family deductible. No co-pays...everything (except preventative care) is 100% out of pocket until the deductible is met. If two of us get sick, it will take years to rebuild that HSA to the level that it will cover the deductible. This job used to have decent insurance, but thanks to democrat meddling it's now basically like being uninsured. As a kick in the teeth, the freaking IRS sent me a nastygram a few weeks ago saying I didn't include my proof-of-insurance paperwork (which I did) with my tax return. They gave me 2 weeks to mail it in or else they were going to fine me for not having insurance coverage as required by ACA. So the government that ruined my healtcare coverage is threatening to fine ME because they claim I failed to show proof that I'm paying exorbitant prices for a plan that basically covers nothing. Only in the liberal mind does this make any sense at all.

Do No Harm, Do Know Harm |
Yeah. Insurance blows. My PPO plan might as well be a high deductible plan after last years’ changes. We’re at around $1,800 of the $2,500, with a deductible of $6,000/$12,000. We have copays, yes, but they are damn near what a cash visit costs now!! Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here. Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard. -JALLEN "All I need is a WAR ON DRUGS reference and I got myself a police thread BINGO." -jljones

We are usually scrambling to use it up by buying less than useful items (as witnessed by the box of stuff in a bathroom closet). So I decreased it by about 2k. This year I went through it the first week of Jan. I am glad that our insurance is picking up the bulk of my treatment costs.

I was a bit ahead on an HSA, but it's all gone now. High deductible plans will do that in just 1 procedure. ------------------ The plural of anecdote is not data. -Frank Kotsonis
