No idea, but it's unlikely you have the same thing as me. I started as tendonitis, but it has devolved to a heal spur broken off and embedded in the Achilles tendon. I need for the inflammation to go away and the broken off heal spur to stabilize (i.e. stop nicking my achilles tendon).

My wife had a torn Achilles tendon with a bone spur . One Ortho Doctor wouldn't even attempt to repair . She got a second opinion from some highly regarded Doc that looked like a little High School cheerleader . She said " No problem , I can fix that ." And she did . The surgery ain't no joke . Wheelchair for a month or two . Multiple casts , therapy , etc. But it worked .
