My P229 was called a Grandpa gun.
I still carry a P239 in .40 (or swapped to .357) in the winter time. I'm 60 so yeah, in my case it might be accurate to say it is for the elder set.

But I'd also have to say, generally speaking, the bullets are for younger people. At least that seems to be the average expectation.

Something for everybody then.

Anyway, youngun said that .40 S&W is for old people and that a pistol shouldn't be so heavy.
I responded that my P229 is over 20 years old and performs as it did on day 1 without ever changing anything.

Thought I would share.

I wouldn't worry about it he's probably another one of these youngn's that can't handle a decent trigger probably own a glock.

Should have asked him how much his HiPoint Yeet Cannon weighs. If it’s too heavy try working out youngun….

I love it when people talk crap like that. I don't particularly care what they think, but it does make it more enjoyable to outshoot them with my outdated relic Cool.

I believe that was your queue to produce a HK P7M8, Browning Hi-Power, or 1911 variant…

My winter carry is a 229 in .40. Heavy? Yes. Shoots like a dream? Also yes. Grandpa? Great Uncle so close enough.

The guys I talk to about guns at work appreciate everything like a firearms enthusiast should. Never been around such nonsense.

You get the last laugh as you keep putting rounds into the same hole down range, and he can't hit his target from halfway between.
