Well that plan completely backfired!
Too dang hot to do anything outside so indoor projects it is. Fixing some slow drains and a low flowing shower head.
We’re graced with some fairly hard, scaly, minerally water here. The shower head is all crusty and barely flows. So I pulled it off and soaked it a some CLR solution thinking that would clean/clear it out.
Well, not so lucky. It just clogged the thing up even worse so much I barely get a drip out of any of the nozzles on the shower head now.
So new shower head shopping I will go.

There's your problem right there... Dang thing is chock full of barley.

Clean all that grain out and it should work a lot better.

Had to replace ours. I was in Costco and noticed a really nice handheld one with a six-foot hose, on sale and I grabbed it. I think it was on sale for around thirty-five bucks. Maybe thirty-nine.

I went to Home Depot today and everything was that eco rated 32 drops per hour and you have to run around in the shower in an attempt to even get wet.
I took the one from the basement and put it in there for now while I find one that actually has a decent spray.

The wife wanted one of those rainfall ones, I hate it, I like a good powerful shower

Some of the low flow ones have an insert that you can take out to make them right

Yep. Many of those "eco" shower heads simply have a plastic flow restrictor inserted inside.

10 seconds with a pair of needle nose pliers to pop it out, and you're back to full flow.

Find a model that you like, and then check Reddit or YouTube to verify that there's a removable restrictor.

I've done that to every shower head I have bought lately. Even did it in my daughter's rental apartment after she complained abut the water pressure in their showers.

I like taking a good high water pressure shower. Wife is pissed about the pressure washer in the bathroom. It's a gas engine model, so it does get kinda stinky but I run the exhaust fan. Smile

If you're goin' through hell, keep on going.
Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it.
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there.

White vinegar may do it. Buy a gallon at Walmart. All my faucets have the restrictor removed.

I have issues with the sensation coming from the stupid "rain drop" shower heads (yay 'tism) so I modified one like that - except the restrictor wasn't removable (landlord supplied). So I got out a drill and zipped through the middle of the restrictor. No regrets here.

I drilled a hole in a restrictor for the hallway bathroom shower. I guess I did a Tim the toolman Taylor and my 5 year said it hurt and we had to get new shower head.

I popped that plastic thing out of the basement shower head I moved up stairs.
It stings a bit in my book but the wife loves it so guess I’ll get a new shower head for the basement

This is going to sound crazy but I've had Moen, Delta and one or two other brands of shower heads and I hated them all. A friend said to get the below one from Amazon. Yes, its made in China but I think its better than any of the name brand ones.

We have them in both of our full baths, plus a spare in the hall closet in case we need to replace one suddenly.

Can't go wrong for $25
