Including my wife's and two youngest kids' who are now stuck in Detroit. The website says due to long lines, chat with us. Chat says call a phone number. The phone number says they can't take the call. FUCK SPIRIT! It was a perfect plan. I dropped them off at the sister-in-law's in Canton on Sunday. The oldest son, the dog, the bikes, SeaDoo, fishing rods, guns, etc. continued on back to Florida arriving at 10pm last night. I was supposed to pick them up today at 6pm. I've been checking other flights and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do on my end. They're going to have to wait in line with all the "important" people. I've done that at both JFK and LaGuardia. It really is amazing how many "important" people book the cheapest flight possible to get to the wedding, funeral, Senate meeting, surgery, significant other's last remaining hours on the planet, etc. My favorite: I'm important and I want to speak to your supervisor. Reply: I am the supervisor, do you want the flight out tomorrow or not? Person in line behind "important" person: I'll take that flight. Wife just called from the rebooking line. All the people in front of her were already rebooked and are getting refunds. She has a flight on United tomorrow, so she is getting a refund and the bags.

Just be glad she's not in San Juan. Yesterday the Spirit "employees" there got tired of the circus and walked off the job leading to all sorts of chaos. I heard 50% of their flights were either delayed or canceled and it's spilling over into today and probably beyond. This summer has been brutal for all the airlines, they went from layoffs and cutbacks in all areas just a few months ago to full speed ahead and no one was ready for it. My wife mentioned they walked past a channel 4 news crew when I talked to her this morning. Oh look, there they are: They are the three in the foreground. I was driving all day yesterday and didn’t know anything about it. The disruption came up in conversation with my neighbor at about 10:30 this morning. It is what it is.

That stinks. I saw an article that mentioned American Airlines also cancelled hundreds of flights. Speak softly and carry a

Nuts, not sure how the miscommunication happened, but they don't have a flight on United today. Instead, they have a supposed flight on American with a connection in Philadelphia and the plane from Philadelphia to Fort Myers is coming from San Juan. What could possibly go wrong? 12:25 update: They are on the first plane and it’s on time. The second plane from San Juan landed early in Philadelphia, but is no longer the plane going to Fort Myers. The new plane is in the air coming from Phoenix, but this pushes the departure for Fort Myers back 1 1/2 hours. 1:45pm: They are in Philadelphia, but the flight to Fort Myers has been delayed until 4:30pm. I’m sensing a trend here. 1:55pm: Now 5:00pm.This message has been edited. Last edited by: trapper189,
