Go to program the nav system with a few addresses for this weekend's trip to California, the Olympic Training Center, a couple of restaurants and my cousin's house. They program in just fine, but the navigation system refuses to navigate to them. It will calculate and in less than a minute flash a message, "Route Failure" then go back to displaying the map of where I am. Any address in AZ, NV, CO and NM work just fine, California seems to be the black hole.

In my truck's defense, it is solid red...

Maybe you should get a blue Prius for the trip.

Your truck is just trying to protect you from paying Kalifornia's gas tax.

Yes, I crammed every last drop of gas I could into my pig of a truck's 36.5 gallon tank in Yuma before crossing over. Hoping I have enough to get back to Yuma without topping off here.

Are you certain that the maps for CA are programmed in?

Better get that working for that difficult route. 10,85,8. How will you do it without GPS? Razz

Might spend half the trip just leaving traffic lights.

Mine's got them all. It's weird, it will compete the route and then give me the error message about a minute after it completes it. The map display works here it just will not navigate to a destination in San Diego.

I think what he is saying is that, first, you have to select the regional map where you are going to, before you can make the GPS route you. That's what my car does.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
