Yes. Insurance rates vary widely and wildly for a variety of reasons. Stop me if this has been said already.

During the Rona Rumba I spent about an hour with State Farm and came away with new Auto for two vehicles, new Homeowners and an umbrella policy.
saving about 150.00 a MONTH even with the new umbrella. Switched from Liberty Mutual after over 20 years.
Always had good experiences at Liberty, just kept getting the annual bump up to premiums.

Impossible to say. Much depends on the vehicle, age(s) of drivers, and the location it's garaged and mileage per day.

That was about the norm for a unmarried driver under 25 driving a decent car capable of some speed. Today's Chargers, Camaros and foreign cars can easily go that high.

Years back in NJ I was in the lowest class, got multi car discounts and still pay almost 1200 per car. Moving 8 miles when I bought my home dropped it from the city to suburban rate.

I learned to contact my insurance agent for a quote before buying a new car.

I did not notice if this has been mentioned, but they also look at your credit rating.

Your best friend for this stuff is an independent agent, NOT tied to a particular insurance company, who will shop the market for you.

The one I use is worth her weight in gold. Between Auto and Home Owner, she has saved me thousands of dollars.

Also, she is a genuine bad-ass; I took her out to shoot, first time that she had ever fired a gun, and she was shooting half-dollar size groups at five yards with my Taurus 94 revolver (.22 LR), S&W Model 65 (.38 SPL), and SIG P228. Do NOT mess with this gal!

Oh I know don't get me started on the damn *credit score* or whatever the hell they call it! I think I bitched about that here a year or so ago. My rating is "affected by lack of recent installment loan information." I haven't had a loan or mortgage of any kind in almost 30 years.
Nationwide did alert me every few months that they were checking my credit. I'm sure Geico checked, not sure if it's high enough to get me the best rate? Nevertheless I already paid the 6 month premium in full (they don't do 12 months) even though it won't begin until January 9th.

With a decent driving record and good credit that sounds high.

Been with State Farm since 1997 and no one has ever been more than a few bucks cheaper. I look around occasionally just to make sure. Only thing they ever did that pissed me off was insist I tear down a shed on the property before activating the homeowner policy. Damn shed was rock solid but several different people insisted it was a dangerous liability. So dangerous that after I cut four of six support posts, it still required a large tractor to pull it down. Can’t win them all I guess.

I have had very good rates from Progessive Insurance, and they've stayed the same for the last 10 years.

That being said, shop around as it's super easy to get quotes on the internet, but there are so many factors that effect your car insurance rate: credit, area you live in, where you actually live, driving record, amount of miles driven, age of vehicles, etc. etc. etc.

Leemur State Farm rates #3 as far as cost in the study https://cars.usnews.com/cars-t...-insurance-companies and Jimmy Progressive is #5, so considering variables you may well have as good a rate is out there.
I was with Nationwide (rated #8) and got a quote from Allstate (rated #9) which was actually just slightly less, not enough for me to change though. However Geico (rated #2) was substantially less. I'm just suggesting consider getting a quote from one of the companies in the top 3 lowest rates if you presently happen to be with one of upper rate companies.

Stop recommending the reduction of liability insurance. Shop around, raise deductibles, drop coll & comp on old cars. But having too low of a liability can be a financial landmine.

Gone are the days where you get a company is offers everyone a low rate. That’s not how it works anymore.
