I'll absolutely ignore the next pandemic and likely be one of the first victims. Our disaster situations around here are focused on Hurricanes. I've experienced a major hurricane before and the aftermath as well as myriad smaller storms over the years. All of my preparation is storm focused and would have to be modified to serve in another disaster.

gjgalliganquote:
If there is a national disaster that severely interrupts supply chains, I would expect that the government- be it federal or state- would prioritize delivering essential medications to the public.
If the problem is with China, war or disaster, meds might become impossible to obtain for extended period of time.

LeemurRead the book “One Second After” for a very well thought out scenario regarding a complete collapse of society in the aftermath of an EMP.

GraniteguyI would not count on the Government at any level to deliver meds in the event of a major disaster.
For example - look at Katrina and NOLA/Biloxi.

Captain MorganIm staying put at least until I need to move out. I have well water, all my food and ammo is here, I cant carry it all. If everyone decides to bug out then what's the point? It'll be like going to some campground. There is deer if I need to shoot one.

92fstechI'm insulin dependent. If the supply of that ever dries up, I'll be dead pretty quick. I'd love to be able to go off-grid and sustain myself for years without any human contact, but unfortunately that's not the reality for me anymore.
As to bugging out...I'm in the place that most people would want to bug out to. Not too close to any major cities, ready access to abundant water, great growing season and we have a large garden, good neighbors, area not prone to any major natural disasters. We have a wood stove and a good supply, a generator, and a well and septic system. Unless something specifically targets and wipes out our home/area, I can't think of any reason to leave, or really anywhere that might be better to go.
