Recently I picked up a used .40 cal P229 with the DAK trigger. And added a .357 Sig barrel.

I'm a tremendous fan of the .357 Sig round in every respect except its cost. About 2 1/2 times as much as 9mm.

So ... my question is ... Can I order a 9mm P229 barrel and use it without any other changes to the gun?

I got my 9mm conversion barrel for my P229 from Bar-sto. They are trying to keep the popular ones in stock now. Got mine in a week or so. Unfortunately mine was not a "drop in". Called around to get it fitted and got many outrageous prices. Finally found a "retired" gunsmith that did it for a very reasonable price. There are several barrel makers on the web that make the barrel, they may or may not be in stock.

No, a factory 9mm barrel will not work because it uses a different locking insert. You need a conversion barrel such as Bar-Sto.

Yep, this is the way to go for the most reliability. Also need a 9mm mag.

I have a 239 DAK in .40 and it came with a BarSto 9mm conversion barrel. Works great and I don't really even need to change mags, springs, slide or anything. Just swap the barrel.

It came with 9mm springs, but seems to work pretty well with the .40 spring...

the BarSto needed fitting, but using the BarSto video and Chris O.'s video - I was able to do it myself.

Maybe someone else can comment but isn't the 239 the one gun where you can simply put a standard 9mm barrel in a 40 S&W 239 and it works fine?

True. Many of us here have done so.
