Any ideas of someone who could strip old chrome plating without damaging receiver markings? I got a pretty nice Krag that was at one point “prettied up” with chrome for a drill rifle I’m guessing. Got it at a good price, and aside from the chrome, it looks great, I’d like to get back to something more original if possible. Thanks Bill R | ||

I believe Chrome can be removed with chemicals, which wouldn't effect the stampings. Lye or muriatic acid remove chrome As well as reverse chroming. Try Ford's plating in Florida.
