I was hoping to get some feedback regarding a SRT upgrade for my older Sig P220 in .45 ACP. I carried an issued P220 for over 20 years and always knew it could be tuned to be more shootable but this was against the regs.

I was wondering if you thought the Sig factory SRT kit is adequate for further tuning as finances allow or would I be better off with the SRT kit offered by Gray Guns? Leaning towards having the Sig Armorer work it over.

I see that the Gray Guns kit doesn't come with a new decocking lever but the Sig kit does, any idea why this is so? Thanks for the feedback and I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

I can only comment on the Sig Sauer SRT kit. I just put one in my older P229 and my newly acquired 40th Anniversary P226. Night and day difference as far as reset goes. I also installed reduced power springs in both, which definitely improved trigger pull. It is not hard to do if you did it yourself and would save some money. You will def feel an improvement.

I would suggest you contact Robert@SigArmorer for all the different options he can offer to you.

He will talk you through what he has to offer to best meet the needs you desire.

He is Sig certified and Gerry Rico certified to offer either or any of the options available.

He is very accessible and his turnaround times are quick and accurate.

The QTR (Quick Trigger Reset) from Robert is shorter/better than the factory SRT, in my experience.

^^^^ What Q said. Gerry Ritacco did the QTR on my M-11 and it's superior to any SRT I have. I'd give Robert Burke a phone call.

I was also wondering if I needed a new decocking lever if I go with a Gray Guns SRT kit, guess I need to give them a phone call.

I put Gray Guns SRT into my guns. They are nickel-teflon plated and improve the smoothness of the DA trigger stroke.

You are correct, the factory SRT sear will be a MIM part, and tolerances I've measured reflect that with sides of the sear not even parallel to each other. Either Gray Guns or Robert (The Sig Armorer) will be using machined steel quality parts. I'd go with the Sig Armorer if I didn't so my own work.

Gray Guns safety lever has required fitting on the two I've used. Lower leg clearance "divot" had to be enlarged to get the lever's top nub low enough to get slide on the gun.
