just curious as to the difference between the two models, 290 and 290RS?

I think RS means "ReStrike", or that you can pull the trigger again on a misfire in an attempt to fire the round again without having to rack the slide.

That and the trigger pull is 30 pounds lighter. Great Carry gun. Accurate and doesn't kick much. There is a bump of plastic in the lower part of the trigger guard that I filed away now my trigger finger doesn't get ground down.
