I scored a late production P232 in pieces on Gunbroker for about $250. I figured it was worth it to part it out with the like new magazine.

Well it seems the previous owner had been “working” on it at some time. It came from the factory as a DAO but I got it with a decocking lever instead of the stud for the sear to rotate on.

So, a new recoil spring, hammer spring, hammer, sear, sear spring and decocking lever were installed…and something was wrong.

The previous owner had clipped the hammer return spring so it didn’t engage. This left the hammer flopping around. An aftermarket spring later and the P232 was good to go.

Absolute bargain. Big Grin. I know this one is 100% at least.

Nice, I think the 232 is superior to any PPK’s. I’ll never get rid of mine. OEM mags are super expensive I used a Promag, which is a brand I never buy but it functions. Enjoy

MecGar Bersa Thunder 8rd 380 magazines are easily modified to fit/function in a SIG P230/232.

The magazine body fits in the frame perfectly and feeds. However, the Bersa uses a traditional magazine catch on the side on the magazine body.

So, you can modify the Bersa magazine by creating a square hole in the rear of the magazine for the Sig P23X Euro style magazine catch to engage.

Sig used a relatively novel way of retaining the magazine base with the magazine spring so any replacements are craft made at this point.

It would be really cool to have Matrix Precision to make a magazine spring because they make every other one.
