Hello. I’m a 74 years old male and dealing with old eyes. My EDC is a P365. How wise would it be for me to have a Holosun HE507K-GR X2 mounted on this weapon? Would really appreciate some professional opinions. Thank you all for your time and interest in helping me. Jim L.

Jdl2 I'm no professional, but I'll give you my 2 cents as there haven't been any replies. Aging eyes as well, with astigmatism and prior LASIK. Often questioned the utility of a red dot on a self defense pistol. However, from prior USPSA matches, I was amazed at the speed and accuracy of those competing with red dots - particularly the older competitors. I recently put a Holosun 407k (dimensionally identical to the 507k, but just a 6moa red dot, not the 2moa dot and larger circle) on a P365 slide. There are some definite advantages after adjusting to shooting with a red dot. You should try one out. See if there is an improvement over iron sights. It will take some time to get used to a red dot though. I think it is really up to you to decide whether or not its wise to go with the red dot optic after you have tried one. Sig sells a P365x slide with a removable rear sight plate. Makes it very easy to mount the Holosun.

I have a P356XL with a Holosun 407k and love it. (I don’t have the 507k because I will never use it outside the single dot.) Highly recommend.
