I just happen to find a video of a conversion kit to modify a P320 to manual safety. I am still not convinced the accidental discharge scenario. Has anyone actually completed this? If so is it a real option. Neither of mine has has any issue, one is a Grayguns full size and other is X5 Carry.

If it is a kit and video by SIG Mechanics, I have been very impressed by his productions about the P320. I don’t make recommendations even if I have personal experience, and in this I don’t, but you might check his other videos to help form your own opinion.

.

I'm guessing you're referring to the YouTube channel by Sig Mechanics?

Long before Sig Mechanics manufactured their DIY kit, I had one of my two P320s converted to manual safety by AB Prototypes when they were still a local company for me to drop in and not need to ship. This was after both of my P320s went to Sig for the "upgrade" and before anyone really knew what to believe about P320s being safe.

Function on my AB Prototype converted P320 is great!

Comparing it to factory manual safety P320s the only person able to tell the difference was a Sig Factory P320 Armorer instructor by seeing a slight color difference inside of the cut-out on the frame.

I realize you weren't asking about sending your P320 off for someone else to install a manual safety. For me, having met Alex the owner and knowing he is a highly skilled machinist and gunsmith, while I am just an armorer ~ I knew he could do a more precise job with his multi-axis CNC machine than I ever could.

If you have the skills to do this yourself, great!!! For me, paying for this service was better option.

Actually if you add all the parts and pieces it is a better deal to have AB do the task. That being said
shipping WTF. No USPS, FEDEX and UPS are FCU considered firearms or just parts? Alex said USPS is not recommended OK I get it the Feds again. So can I just get box print out a label and send it UPS?
Any help here is appreciated.

Some people have been known to ship via FedEx or United Parcel without declaring the contents of the package to be a firearm -- if questioned, they have said "machine parts."

To the best of my knowledge, this is NOT a violation of any Federal law, nor ATF regulation, but it is definitely against policy of FedEx and United Parcel, so in the event of loss, the shipper will likely not be reimbursed.

I am neither endorsing nor discouraging this practice, just stating what some people do.

If you want to be on the safe side, pay your friendly local FFL dude(tte) to send it via Priority Mail. Legal, safe, and depending on the FFL fee, not that expensive.

The part with the serial number is legally the firearm.
