Not much a repair / how to question, but the issue to lend to a repair. Recently acquired a like new P225-A1, doesn't appear to have more than 50 rounds through it. I noticed the slide a some noticeable place side to side vs all my other Sigs which were much more tight. Is this common or should it be looked at by Sig and would they even still work on these older guns. Thanks in advance for shedding some suggestions my way.

How loose is loose? I doubt Sig would do a slide/frame tightening job, but plenty of other gun smiths would. I’m betting the pistol locks up tight and is accurate, but if the looseness troubles you, it can be “corrected”. __________________ "Owning a handgun doesn't make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician." -Jeff Cooper

Thanks Chris! Just find it odd for an almost brand new gun to have left the Sig warehouse this way. All of my other Sigs are so much tighter. Will get it out to the range and see there is any accuracy issues before taking any action.

I have three P225A1s now and the slide to frame fit varies. The two blue ones are nicely fit and the stainless is a bit "sloppy". All are super accurate though and the looser fit will make no difference for accuracy as long as the barrel locks up tight (which mine do). Years back I had a few P228s and one P226 that were really sloppy and started to use grease on the rails. It stopped the annoying rattle and it didn't negatively impact performance. I'd just shoot it and not worry about the fit of that particular example. Save the whales. Redeem them for valuable prizes...

I even had German Mastershop Xguns that displayed loose fit. Yeah, as long as it functions fine, there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about. Q
