Hi everyone and happy holiday I wonder if I can drop an OEM barrel of a P226 9mm in to a P226 .40 S W caliber? If so is there any modify need to do? Thanks in advance

Short answer is no.You need a 9mm conversion barrel like http://www.barsto.com/category_main.cfm?ID=SSB or https://tinyurl.com/y72tt9bg I'm alright it's the rest of the world that's all screwed up!

It will fit in there, but the breech face will be wider than the barrel hood, so the barrel may not lock up the same every time it goes into battery. The slide stop may not contact the follower on a 9mm magazine not locking the slide back after the last round. 9mm may work in the .40 magazine depending on the magazine itself. I did it just to see if it would work, but it was only a handful of rounds at the range. I have both a 9mm and a .40 so I was just curious after all of the times this question came up. I wouldn't even consider it a valid test and would not recommend trying it. If this is a gun used for personal defense, scrap the idea and just buy the right gun!

Thanks for answer my question I just wonder if it possible since both frame look similar, it could be dump to use a modify gun w/o testing for HD. I only keep one w/o any modify for my HD after test it many time at the range!Risk my life when it need for a fancy one is not my type LOL. Mighty God Bless you, your family and enjoy this Holidays season. Regards.
