Would the screw on Novak Tactical Light Rail be secure on its aluminum dust cover?
Yes, I know it would probably have to be cut to the SIG dust cover radius instead of Colt.

It may but I would have a lot of concern with the thinness of the dust cover and the clearances involved that you would not get enough threads to hold the rail and light through recoil.

Let me look through my old 226 part stuff. I seem to recall that someone had some kind of rail solution for the 226.
