Sig has always had the braided style recoil spring for the 357/40 in the p229. I noticed that they switched to a "flat style" and another braided style, that I heard was causing problems. Does anyone know which style is the latest and is it as good as the old braided style? I never had any problems with the old braided style.

I recently ordered a P229 9mm recoil spring from MGW and was sent a 'standard' spring, not the original twisted strand style spring.

I don't know why Sig switched springs.
