AnubismpPotentially dumb question G34 barrel
I've picked up a Glock 34 and found I like a comped pistol better. With that said I looked at the lightning cut in the front of the slide and wondered if swapping in a ported barrel would act similarly to a comp?

Rob1972Short answer: yes. I would buy a second barrel and have it ported, if you think you might ever sell/trade it. Most people don't want the porting in the 34, which is why Glock dropped it when they reissued the 17L as the 34.

sns3guppyGlock offers a series of ported models with the designation "C," as in G19C, G17C, etc. I can definitely see it jet upward when a shot is fired, and it's louder, but I don't perceive much change in the handling of the pistol.

AnubismpAnd after all that I found a smoking deal on a barrel and minicomp. Figures. I appreciate the help and might still try a ported barrel as black friday is coming up.
