This 1,000% excise tax on firearms??
So they want to charge an 1,000% excise tax on “AR—15s” at the manufacturers level.

Could the manufacturer just not charge .10 cents for the firearm itself and an added labor/assembly charge for the difference of what the gun actually charges that would not be subject to the tax? Or even a heightened shipping and HANDLING fee?

For a similar example
We used to not have a sales tax on services here. So one went to a dealer and you were charged for the part and tax was applied to the part only.
You were then charged for labor but since that was a service it was not taxed.
Now granted the politicians changed that awhile back here and now charge tax on a number of services that they never used to.
