You may have already seen the news. But President Trump has nominated an anti-gunner to lead the ATF.

His name is Chuck Canterbury, and he is the president of the anti-gun Fraternal Order of Police. Sadly, Canterbury has a long track record that should concern gun owners:

He’s testified before Congress to support anti-gunners like Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Attorney General Eric Holder.

Under his watch, the FOP backed Congressional measures to expand the unconstitutional and failing NICS system — which is the same system where 95% of the initial denials are false positives.

And on the state level, the FOP under his watch has supported Universal Background Checks and opposed Constitutional Carry.

Please email your U.S. Senators and urge them to reject the Canterbury nomination (above).

AmmoLand.com posted an article by the NSSF stating their (NSSF) approval of Canterbury, but read the comments on Ammoland, very negative.

An article on the Washington Post website posted on January 17, 2009, when Eric Holder was nominated for Attorney General, included a quote from Canterbury stating his support for Holder: "When politics are put aside when examining Mr. Holder's record, you will find him not only well qualified, but also possessed of the requisite character, knowledge and experience to be an effective leader."

Here's another gun rights organization with criticism of Canterbury.

You would think his support of Sotomayor and Holder would be enough to taint him in our eyes. He is anti-Constitutional carry. Being nominated by Trump should not cleanse him of his sins.

Canterbury isn't an anti-gunner of Feinstein's status. But he is not a strong friend of the 2d Amendment.

I trust my President. He defeated 16 other "republicans", Hillary Clinton, and the media to get where he is. He is no idiot.
