That is awful. I don't understand how a buddy got his FOID renewal in 20 days when I read things like this.

It took me 21 phone calls to get through to the f.o.i.d. card people to apply by phone.
All those many months ago.

Three weeks ago I called the gun shop in Geneseo, to ask if they could assist me.

Because today I got my c.w.p in the mail.

I mailed my CCW renewal Jan 17th 2020, and my wife's FOID renewal in Aug 2020.

A buddy told me to do this back in March and it worked. Called on a Thursday and had both our new cards in 3 days.

Go to the Illinois State Police facebook page, find their contact information. Call the phone number listed and ask for the firearms service division. Have your application # and CCW # handy.

I hate Illinois. Hoping to get out of here when the youngest finishes high school in 4 years.

bendable, Mine also took 14 months. But I got my FOID renewal in 5 weeks. No rhyme or reason to any of it...

Unless things have changed, You don't need a FOID and a CCW permit,
The CCW permit is good as your FOID card too.

Depending on his rep, if they're a liberal, they won't care.

Call the firearms section of the ISP and you get a recording.

Leo Schmidt was the old head of ISP, (former Chicago cop and boss on the job, as well as a huge firearms enthusiast, and 2nd Amnendment / concealed carry supporter) he had the (FOID/ CCL) office staffed with enough people to get the job done effectively. That was also under Governor Rauner.

Governor fatass? Nope... Office is barely staffed. Why you ask? Because you owning a gun and being able to carry one legally isn't one of his priorities, stuffing his gaping maw with another cheeseburger is.

FYI the guy in charge is a gun guy and not anti gun at all. My brother knows him.

You need a FOID if you have a CCW. You only have to carry the CCW though.
