My mother had major surgery on Feb 9th.
Without going into the gory details, she has had several feet of intestines removed, as well as, part of her colon.

I have been at her home, taking care of things here and going to the hospital every day.

We expected her to come home last week, but now hoping it might be next week.

Being that this has been so serious, I will have to postpone the SF shoot until I get past this hurdle.

Hoping by April or May we can do it.

Thanks, and I hope to be back on the boards soon.

Colon resection surgery is no walk in the park. I had about 18" of mine removed when I was in my late forty's, I wish her well.

I had laproscopic colon resection also. When she gets home, rest is her friend. I went back to work 2 weeks after leaving the hospital, and almost passed out after a few hours. Take it slow.

Best wishes for your mom. If she ended up with an ostomy bag I would be more than happy to help as I have a permanent ostomy.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
