Some major issues have happened to my old Park Avenue which are beyond simple repair. 21 Years of road salt damage have rendered it unsafe to drive. People are telling me to not drive it. Its rear suspension has rusted open and broken on both sides. Heavy rubber bushings in its front end have fallen out and their steel support is gone. Me rear tires have extreme toe in at their tops so bad, people stay back from my car on slow secondary roads. It has been showing me other problems of late such as the heater and defrost work 50 % of the time. The controls do not work proper any longer. As of 3 days ago, I hear its rear brake pads digging into the rotors making quite a scrubbing or howling sound through the cars rear body. There is much more wrong with the old girl which I cannot repair. I have photos I hoped to post but need to join a new host site. I have found imgur on line and will try after the weekend. I work weekends at a Flea Market which yields me $45.00 per week. My sedan has been both home and transportation into my 29th month now. I am asking the Members here to pull together and help me get something else to drive and stay in untill I can return to a real job. I honestly dont know where to go from here or how else to ask. Hopeing above all to not be a burden or lose my posting rights to my favorite site. I will send this and check back as I can get to wifi. Thank you for reading. DL. I forot to add, the rear end underside will just about touch a 2 inch high can of tuna. That is how low the metal is under the car. It drags on uneven surfaces.

You're asking in the right place and in the right way David.

You're in Kentucky. Is that correct?

I quick perusal on AutoTrader for that area has a decent condition Sebring Touring with about 100k on the clock for $2200 nearby. Seems like a reasonable fundraising goal.

I'll keep looking for something bigger--I think a minivan would probably suit David's needs well at this time.

I will let the owners and mods decide how much and how big.
This looks like a fair deal, but the minivan route sounds good also.If we can get 20 to 30 guys throwing in a hundred bucks.

I was going to list my oval plate mint 2022 on here.

If interested,i would karma the funds to dave

$2500 for a 2000 Dodge Caravan with 80k on the clock.

I wonder if we have any mechanics out that way that could take a look at it.

Gas mileage would not be as good as a minivan, however to also serve as a living space maybe something along the lines of a full size van should be considered.

David,

Is there anything keeping you where you are beyond not having a safe way to leave and an opportunity at a different location?

IIRC, you moved to that area for work that didn't pan out.

What are your skills? There might be someone on the board looking for dependable help.

Let's figure out an employment goal/location and then figure out how to kit you up for a relocate or retrain and another fresh start.

I will help any way I can.

A full size bed on a simple mission style frame will fit with the back 2 rows of seating removed. That provides adequate sleep platform, storage under bed, and leaves front passenger bench for a "couch" of sorts.
