Can't say that I've ever seen that, even growing up in a 'country' town of about 6,000.
More forest than farms, though.

Amusingly, some tractors could likely outsprint the 20 year old non-turbo diesel Mercedes I was driving at the time Big Grin

No, but a guy I knew showed up one day in this:

Lotus 19, his father's race car. It was red and seemed to be about 24" high.

He may well have plowed the tulips at Meadowdale with it.

Never saw a tractor driven to school, but I remember an awful lot of pick-ups with shotguns and deer rifles in rear window racks.

And nobody never got shot.

Imagine that.

Nope. The streets around my high school were filled with parked Cadillacs, Buicks, Lincolns, and sports cars; the teachers' parking lot was filled with 5-yo Fords, Chevvys, and Plymouths.

I lived in the "Motor City" and my high school was 85% rich Jew. Those kids thought nothing about dropping $100 in a poker game (back when $100 was a lot of money--1950s).

No, but we did go to the town dump and club Rats.

Yep, in the '60s we drove our tractor to school one day each year. This was usually in the fall at the time of the county fair.
That was 50 years ago. Small town. Maybe 15 tractors would show up. I guess that it is still done.

Yep, sure did in Southern Illinois. We also had a tradition of arriving at Prom in unique rides, one year a guy rolled up with his date in a Steiger!!

Yes my high school still did it back in the early 2000's no idea if they still do, but living in Lancaster County, PA I'd say there's a pretty good chance they still do.
