Mine had that grease all over it too, really dirty inside. Even had dust all over the inside when I took off the grips. The cardboard box didnt seem to help. Mine cleaned up nice too. Still no pictures (busy day at work). That is a pretty nice "fair" example. Mine was VG and its not much better then that one. Maybe a bit, but not much. I have new grips on the way from Tom, maybe that will help mine a bit. My night sites are dim, but still work. James in Denver

Nice - That has very little frame rail wear. Mine came in yesterday but due to vacation & scheduling conflicts with my FFL I can't pick it up will mid next week.

yarchin, in your picture is that surface rust around the rear sight? If it is, I'd heavily soak that area in Kroil for a few days and see if it comes out. Worked like a champ on an old 226 I picked up.

Interesting that they had to mark "Germany" on the right side of the frame in addition to the import mark on the left side... looking forward to picking mine from Dan's tomorrow, or early next week... and yes, I crumbled to the power of the German SIG, even though I think they were overpriced by about $50-75...

I agree they were $50 over what I had hoped but I could not resist.

Can we like do a group buy for a new damn etching machine for PW ARMS so they can stop marring every sig that comes into this country with their freaking dot dot dot etch a sketch machine. Uglier then hell on my pretty babies.

Honestly, I don't mind the mark that much as long as they stay away from the frame. I passed on several P6's because they mangled the frame with their marking. I do wish that they didn't have to put "GERMANY" on the side to 'prove' is wasn't made in Switzerland, or something.

Rhino, does your front sight have a 6 on it or is it just the picture. I was under the impression it should have 8/8

Yes, it has 6/9, which if my math is correct should have the same result as a set of 8/8s. I'm putting a front night sight on #6 and have a spare #9 rear, so it'll stay in that configuration. It shot POA yesterday (I wanted to check before swapping them).

As I just traded for another 228 two weeks prior I was reluctant to add a third. However, I did. My Swiss 228 from Dan arrived today. AB ('92) and excellent shape except for holster wear. The rails are superb and the insides look mint. Cleaned her up and tucked her away. I think I'll leave this one be as the weathered look is fine with me (hey, that rhymes!) . Great deal with free shipping & three "zipperbacks".

Anyone else got a Swiss P228 they can post pictures of? I turned down buying one on Saturday and I'm really second guessing myself and thinking I should go back and get one while I still can.
