My first up-close encounter with a really big bear (lots of pics)
I got way , way ! too close to a Moose in Yellowstone Nat. Park once.
I thought I saw one go in too a birch thicket,
funny thing about birch thicket is, when you are 50 feet inside of one, it looks like wall paper all around you , your eyes go a little nuts, very disorienting
I stopped to listen for him ( the moose) and while looking around
there were irregularities in the black and white wall paper , I had to really focus ,
turns out I was only 40 feet from the giant beast again about 70 feet too close. This message has been edited. Last edited by: bendable,

A black bear isn't afraid of you, but at the same time usually would rather not have to interact with you either. Just don't get between a mother and her cubs...
