Pictured here are my two Sigs that I acquired within this calendar year (2008). The Blackwater P226R 9mm and the P229R 9mm SCT. I became a fan of the wood grips when I purchased the Blackwater and then decided to enhance the 229 with the walnut grip.

The Blackwater is one that I stumbled across at a gun show not really expecting to find one. I was actually in the market for the 229 and got the BW instead. Of course later I found the SCT and enhanced the small but growing collection of Sig guns.

Why .308? Because people have a strange tendency to get behind things when you start shooting at them.

Did the thickness/feel change with the factory walnut grips vs plastic? The plastic grips are almost too thick for me now but I'd like to go with wood. Are these wood grips thinner than the grips on Elites?
