From Friday at "Chinaman's Hole" on the Umatilla River in Eastern Oregon.

A guy I don't know caught a bike frame that was snagging everyone's gear and got it landed (he also landed a couple fish). He was using 80 pound braided line

And the Coho hen I caught that day (I caught a 29 inch Coho hen and a 33 inch Coho buck that day)

A fun afternoon of fishing.

Cryin' shame the Mtn Bikers can't stay on the singletrack...........now they're encroaching on the rivers, too ? Wink

From the looks of all the snagged lines? on the frame, Chinamans Hole is no secret.

Some tasty lookin Salmon. Unaware that you named the sex of fish.

That bike frame was probably from a bike that was stolen and stripped for parts and then thrown in upstream durring high water.

Yes we name the gender of the salmon (hens = female, bucks = male)as some people only target hens to collect the eggs to cure for bait, and others only target bucks for the meat.

There must have been over $100.00 worth of fishing tackle attached to that bike frame.

Where we were fishing you have to walk across the river, cross an island (where we used to park before people started throwing their dead appliances and matteresses out there and the land owner closed the access road), walk across the river to a rock outcropping.
