Appearing yet again is "Stinger" (the long dead, from drowning, Stripe Tail scorpion) in possibly one of his (her?) final photo shoots.
Since it rained last night and Stinger is left outside, he/she appears to have been slightly re-hydrated. Another photo session this afternoon will see if there is some "life" in this model.

You could have him "bronzed" like they used to do with baby shoes back in the day ... I did that with a pet turtle once. Although he wasn't that heavy he made a cool paper weight until he disappeared ... most people thought he was made of brass until they picked him up ... he got dropped several times when I told them that he used to be alive but I had him bronzed so I could keep him forever! Some thought that was creepy.

If you really want something you'll find a way ...
... if you don't you'll find an excuse.

I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either Wink

kimberkid, thanks for the tip of “bronzing”! I had forgotten that preservative trick.. I still have a pair of my late father’s bronzed baby shoes. The tip came just a bit too late…
Sad to report Stinger was laid to rest in a simple used Ziplock® sandwich bag this AM. He/she(?) was unable to report for a morning photo shoot.
I have now called on Gilda to be the AZ dangerous critter (spokes) model for photography from now on. She’s a sweetheart.

And thank you.
"Gilda" is a fiberglass model made from a mold taken from a female GM that died. The animal belonged to a breeder who contacted a man that makes these type of models for his business.

Since no one else has posted a pic of the eclipse, here's mine. Taken on 21 Aug 2017 at a farm near Pendleton, SC with a 6" refractor telescope at the moment of totality.

Not sure how to post like I used to with photobucket as I never used to have to use a link.

So I need to use a PC? My phone is what I'm on 99% of the time and it has no "right click" I don't think.
