If you really want something you'll find a way ...
... if you don't you'll find an excuse.

I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either Wink

^^^Beautiful!

How can there NOT be life out there? We may never be able to conquer the distances involved, but I firmly believe we are not alone.

Astronomers are only just beginning to realize that only certain sets of conditions must exist in the right proportions for life to exist. The conditions that permit even the simplest life forms are not arbitrary--they are simply too complex. Our solar system for example is constructed in just the right way to allow life to exist on this Earth. Take away any small part of it and conditions for life would be negligible.

The literally uncountable number of stars/suns/planetary systems out there would seem to me to make it statistically likely that the necessary set of conditions exist in more than one place in the universe.

We'll probably never know tho.

That's a logical fallacy....... an appeal to ignorance. Sounds like something out of a Lee Strobel book.

The conditions on earth at this moment are capable of sustaining human life but there was a time when the O2 levels would not have and it is likely that there will be a change in the chemical signature of the atmosphere to inhibit human life again but other forms of life will continue to thrive.

As there have been chemical changes on earth so are there changes on other planets in the universe to promote life so it is just patently wrong to assert that our solar system is exceptional against a universe undergoing constant change.
