Ed Brown Government 1911
I recently acquired this stainless Ed Brown 1911 from their website (it was listed there as an in-stock gun) and now carry it after logging over 600 trouble-free rounds so far. It was part of the recent 1911 Photo Contest here on SF and I thought I’d post a few more pics of it separately.

Its features are very subtle; the gun overall has a buttoned-down look to it that I like. I almost missed the American Flag treatment to the slide serrations when I first saw it online. The only change I’ve made from how it was delivered is the installation of a set of Craig Spegel cocobolo grips.

I plan to document this one as I go - it’s the first truly new 1911 I’ve had in a while.

Can't go wrong with Ed Brown. Handsome gun.

I love mine. I actually forgot when I bought it, called them, and my serial is earlier than their record keeping...

If you haven't tightened down the rear sight, do so if it's in a good spot. They ship them only lightly secured.

Arc.

The folks at Ed Brown were a class act. I ordered the gun from them at SHOT Show the winter before I retired. MY retirement gift to myself. I explained what the MHP 237 meant and they added it to the short option list. When they got it done I paid the balance.

When the gun arrived ,they had given me the engraving for free, and wrote a "Thank You for Your Service" note on my receipt. Kinda got to me. Very nice of them.

My gun loves 4.5 of Bullseye over the old H&G #68 200 gr lead SWC target slug. Shoots that load VERY accurately. But Frankly it shoots everything reliably and accurately! They build a hell of a 1911. You are gonna love yours. Enjoy.

^^^ That is so good to hear! Service that’s a step above and beyond!

This 1911 has been (as expected) a pleasure to shoot.

What a great looking handgun. Thanks for sharing.

I have followed many EB's in .38 Super on GB. One day soon, I will own one. I am torn between the full-size and the Commander length.

Very nice, precisely how I believe a 1911 style pistol should be configured.

We live in a great time for 1911's. Years back You bought a Colt, spent several weeks of paychecks and months and months of waiting, then hoped the Smith got it all right. To turn it into what you wanted.

Now go to the LGS and snag a Brown, Wilson, Nighthawk, etc.

I've also got a Wilson full sized CQB. It's been surprisingly accurate as well as totally reliable. The Kobra Carry and the CQB, in a word...FLAWLESS. And both were reasonably priced for the quality work performed.
