That's a good spider though.

It won't harm you and eats a LOT of bugs.

Those are the ones you WANT outside your house.

I don't allow spiders INSIDE my house. Those get "relocated" to outside if i can, and to hell if i cannot.

I read somewhere that you are never more than 6 feet away from a spider.

Had to do with the huge number of species prevelant everwhere except Antartica and the Artic Circle.

I hope this isn't the one invading your personal space.

Good luck sleeping!!

Looks like a type of wolf spider from a little cursory interweb research I just did. Pretty wild if you ask me.

It looks like a white banded fishing spider...

http://bugguide.net/node/view/113410/bgpage

Actually, maybe not. I just looked for other pics of the white banded fishing spider and they don't look exactly like this. This site has questions as to what kind it is also. Funny thing is the wall in my link looks very similar to yours.

Addison told me how to make that line.

Nobody is going to buy a house that has a spider with a freaking laser beam on it's head living in it.

I'm glad that was not in my house. My wife would be freaking out big time and never get to sleep.

You could have at least put your hand next to it so we can get an idea of it's actual size. Razz

The only way to kill that thing for sure is to invite Chuck Norris over for dinner.

The worst part. It is on the eves, directly above my grill. I can't believe how big and hairy this nasty thing is and I decide I need take a picture. After the picture taking, I am pondering on how I'm going to kill it. Shotgun, broom, etc... (Sorry to all of the spider lovers out there, but I don't play with spiders. I kill every one I see. I hate them, and they all should die!) I wanted to attack it with extreme violence, however, we decided the best thing to do would be to hit it with a stream of Wasp Spray. So, I go out to the garage to get said wasp spray. My wife and I go back outside, and guess what? That's right, the spider is gone. Did I mention that he was hanging out directly above my grill. But now, he is nowhere to be found. So now, I am extremely paranoid about the nasty spider jumping on my face on Sunday afternoon when I'm hanging out on the patio. Here is the picture of the evil creature that is causing me much torment.

Due to the coloring, highly reflective nature of the eyes (8 of unequal size), and lack of the web, I'm gonna say you've got a wolf spider. Body type and shape are all wrong for a tarantula, too. These spiders are not aggressive in nature and their bite is more annoying than anything (non-necrotic) to humans causing irritation and sometimes nausea in bad cases. Don't get me wrong. . .. . I've run head-long into a fire-fight without batting an eye; but DO NOT put me in a room with a spider. the good thing about your particular spider is its size allows it to hunt larger pests such as carpenter bees (that destroy your home), wasps, rats........ Eek Best advice: steer clear of him and he'll leave you alone.
