I'm liking that ST1300, Excam_Man.
If I ever have a "next" bike, it'll be ST1300 or an FJR1300.

Looking good gang....lets see more!!

To keep this thread going...

This Spring riding season marks the 11th Anniversary of re-homing my '85 FXRSS, my 12th and last M/C. After 21 years of riding my Springer it went to a very good local home.

What an awesome-looking bike. Congrats. Let us know what you think of the new engine.

Well I’ve got 500+ miles on so, break-in is going well. Now I do not have a lot to compare to. Last time I was on a H-D was 30+ years ago.

What I like so far:
Mono shock rear end. I can adjust with a few turns of the knob.
Engine, very smooth and responsive. Again I do not have much to compare to and taking it easy with the break-in period. But I know that with a good twist of the throttle you better be hanging on tight.
Denim Blue paint - so many compliments on the bike color and paint.

Anyone planning on coming to MKE for the 115th celebration?

Found out that if anyone is planning to be in Milwaukee on a Saturday, stop at the Harley-Davidson museum and they are doing test rides for folks on the new bikes. You can take a bike out for a scenic route of Milwaukee.

I’ll see if I can find a link with all details. Most dealers have this going on now too.

Thanks everyone that appreciated the new ride!

Love the Breakout!! Small fuel tank though on the 2018 - how’s your range been?
I decided against the HD and bought a Triumph Bonneville Bobber Black which also has a tiny tank, but sips fuel (55-60mpg!)

Everyone,

Thanks for the comments on the ride. Yes the Breakout has a small tank, but I’m not taking it touring, just weekend rides across WI and just to drive to the office daily. So for my usage it’s been great. Seem to be getting about 140-180 on a tank.

Everyone must be enjoying the rides. You are all too quiet.

I had a special opportunity to get on this, the LiveWire. Now it’s not on the street, but you do get a feel of how the drivetrain does on the jumpstart. Just about everyone who hopped on tried to grab for the clutch! If this ever gets released I may consider adding to the garage.

mkueffer, not seeing the pic

Got it now, thanks!

I've hear those electrics are QUICK! If they can get the range issues fixed, I'd consider one.

Interesting day Monday. Took off from home to hit up Skyline Drive. Decided to go down Rt. 231 to Sperryville (where I grew up) and get on the park at Thornton's Gap (Rt. 211). On the way up, going around a right hand curve, I saw a bear climb over the guardrail on my left and it ran onto the road in front of me. Those little bastards are quick! Covered 2.5 lanes in a flash. I didn't even have time to think about what I was seeing or what I was doing. I just did get around the bear and ended up kicking it in the head to push it away from me and the bike as I was going through the curve. I screamed some obscenities in to my helmet and continued up to the park.

Pulled over at Buck Hollow Overlook and snapped the pic above. The farm I grew up on is in the background above the gas tank of the bike. 4.6 miles off in the distance and I could make it out...just barely.

Quick does not describe it. More like instant. We were told to please keep it under 60 on the jumpstart. You would just give a good twist and it read 70 on the speedometer. Hard to judge just how quick these will be on the road when you are testing in a stationary stand.

So this 2004 Suzuki GSXR-1000 Mladin Edition followed me home recently. It goes vroom.

I'm 'supposed' to be selling by Buell XB12S, but I think they make a nice pair.

How are you liking the bobber black? Any quirks or issues?
