Well, those fondue forks can be pretty deadly but it doesn't hurt to have some backup.

Mmmmm, chocolate! With pretzels (my favorite), brownies, marshmallows, rice crispy treats, bananas, strawberries.

My kid had to add her own protection, hence the deadly wooden snake.

Methinks that fondue on a Sunday early afternoon is a better match with the NFL (GO STEELERS!) than beer and pizza.

Cheese fondue with anything other than sour dough french bread is blasphemy!! Big Grin

However, chocolate fondue is an entirely different story! Razz

..................................................................................................................
A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor - he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation - he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city - he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. ∑ Cicero, 42 B.C.

Nice. You have a lovely family.

Is that a hula girl figurine on top of your china cabinet?

My wife collects them. She wants to know if yours is porcelain?

You have a beautiful family. My dad always wanted a cute little girl and my little brother was supposed to be it. Needless to say. . .

Tuckerrnr1,
Yeah, Entrek. Good knife albeit a little thick-spined hence a crappy grind angle from the factory. I reground it to a thinner profile, and it's great. That's my beater-carry-with-me-all-day knife.

ST3Rock,
That is a porcelain. Spendy, but one of the few souveniers from my first honeymoon that I still own. Oh, and she goes well with the Jesco White bobblehead figurine standing next to her. Smile

Oat,
Fondue is totally bitchen! I used to love the cheese fondue and wine parties I had in college back in the eighties.

Funny, that's why we did the fondue....my little sister in Pgh went to Melting Pot and posted about it on Facebook. Since then, we've been craving it. We did the Melting Pot in Orlando last year.
There used to be a great fondue place in Pgh at Station Square called The Cheese Cellar. I always think about it when I think of fondue, as that's where I took my prom date.

I love fondue. I have great memories of eating it as a family when I was growing up.

Looks like a great day with yours!

A couple of years ago I gave my parents a gift certificate to the Melting Pot for their anniversary. I enjoyed the appetizer and dessert fondues better than the entrée fondue. I'd go back for the cheese and chocolate anytime.

Yeah, the entrée is kind of blah....the only decent one is the coq au vin or the oil-based stuff. Otherwise it's flavored boiled meat and veggies. I only like the cheese fondue there. Especially with some good wine.
