Spent a few hours at Alligator River this afternoon. Lots of waterfowl. ![]() This is what a 600+ lb Black Bear looks like. From about 300 yards. His gut was nearly touching the ground. Wish I could have gotten closer. ![]() More waterfowl ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Same in b&W ![]() ![]() A nice end to the trip ![]() ![]() In higher resolution: https://photos.app.goo.gl/EK7ApfQqBxFLEubX7

Nice photos. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

+1 Always love your photos/adventures. Makes me want to live there. Then I remember the stories of the heat and bugs and I don't again. "Ultima Ratio Regum" Life Member NRA Washington Arms Collectors The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them.'

North Carolina's state bird - the Deer Fly. Far more dangerous than any bear. NC Deer Flies eat Deep Woods Off with DEET like candy. I've walked out of the wood feeling anemic from blood loss. ![]()
