Well here are some pics of why I love to vacation in MI.

The dogs love it.

The Natives are friendly. Should you loose a shoe, you can look here.

Crazy kids, trying to ward off a wave.

The view from Arcadia overlook, one of my favorite places ever.

The most beautiful barn I have ever seen (near Glen Lake).

The flowers are beautiful.

The birds are pretty cool.

The water is very clear (looking down approx 20-25 feet).

The beer was cold.

The sunsets are awesome

The Waverunner was fun.

Even after falling off.

The beach is very cool.

Fire on the beach at night.

The Pier.

The reason I get up every day.

Michigan, if you have never visited, you should give it a try.

I don't know that I'd ever move away from Michigan for more than a few years.

Born and Raised in the Northern Lower in a medium/small town. I love the Great Lakes and I'm glad that you were able to enjoy some of the great state!

Great looking family! I hope you return.

Looks like a lot of fun.

I like Stroh's, I don't think I can even buy it around here.

I moved away from Michigan after college, 1995, moved back almost exactly a year later. The rest of the contiguous 48 are nice...but to quote Dorothy.."There's no place like home!"

I'm proud to live here and love that you bring your family here to enjoy the Michigan experience. (hate sounding like a Tim Allen Michigan.org commercial, but it's true)

Catholics, we're not here for a long time. We're here for a good time!

My Hometown. Clarkston is a beautiful suburb of Detroit.

Great pics of your Michigan vacation as always P-220. I remember the pics you posted from your previous vacation here.

Wow! You should work for the Michigan Tourist Council. Great pics and what a nice family you have. I'm intrigued by the fire on the beach, we used to do that in PA and now days you can't. I may have to take a trip to Michigan to give the wife and our little boy the great time that a day and night at the beach has to offer.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, fires are permitted on the beach and you are allowed to have glass bottles on the beach. The beach is on Lake MI. in Onekama/Portage Point. No one patrols the beach, everyone just picks up after themselves and it works out pretty well.

Thanks for the tip... I am definitely going to plan a vacation there when my little boy is old enough to enjoy and appreciate it.

Those are some great looking pups. Reminds me of my lab. Their idea of fun is cold water and a mouth full of sand, you've got to love them.

Stroh's! Classic! I worked at an amphitheater when I lived in OH and we used to drink that stuff when we were cleaning up at night after a show. I can't get it out here in AZ. Makes me a little nostalgic.

That's what I like to hear! Everyone around here hates seagulls (rats with wings, they say), but I've always thought they were beautiful birds. Glad you had a great time. Michigan is very underrated.
